SERVING the COMMUNITY

OUR PROGRAMS

Current programs operating under Next Movement:

Y.E.S Mentorship Program

The Y.E.S. Mentoring Program ultimate goal is to EMPOWER, EXPOSE and EDUCATE while creating equal access which involves leveling the playing field through conflict resolution, self-esteem, and access to a global society by empowering our youth through educational, entrepreneurial, financial, and social skills, seminars, activities, and shadowing.

To help children in the Harford County Region reach their destiny through one-to-one relationships with caring mentors focused on enhancing academic achievement, raising self-esteem, empowering youth toward self-sufficiency, and providing access to a global community.

Our vision is to mentor, educate, embrace, and empower young people to become accountable and compassionate, ultimately inspiring them to achieve their goals to reach their purpose and destiny. The program is located at Halls Cross Roads Elementary, Edgewood Elementary and Deerfield Elementary schools for boys and girls in 3rd -5th grades. The program meets 2 Wednesdays per month.

Empowered Queens

Empowered Queens was founded in 2016 by Raven Green as an organization created to gather young women, ages 9-18, together in order to establish a sisterhood.  The 3 core principles of Empowered Queens are to SERVE, WORSHIP and LOVE.  We serve the community, worship God and love ourselves and others.  Empowered Queens has evolved over the past three years and now focuses on serving girls ages 9 – 15.  The core principles remain, but the focus has expanded beyond a sisterhood into a mentoring organization that seeks to motivate, encourage and empower young ladies to become leaders in the community.  The young ladies meet monthly on the third Saturday.  During these meetings the young ladies have an opportunity to discuss an empowering topic and leave with an action plan on how to implement the lessons learned into their daily lives.  A time is normally set aside during each meeting for a creative activity or craft.  Throughout the year the young ladies volunteer in the community serving the homeless population, assisting seniors and volunteering at other community events.

Homeless Family Support Program:

First Thursday Feed the Homeless: The First Thursday Team of Seniors and Adults serve a hot meal on the 1st Thursday o every month. As we serve natural food to strengthen and encourage it is our hope that many will move from homelessness to hopefulness.
